About us Theodor Nagel has been trading in timber and wooden products since 1837 and became an international business house. The owners, the Krauth-family, have been directing the company for 6 generations. The 7th generation is now in the second and fourth class and is already practising to distinguish the different species of timber. We can regularly offer about 120 different kinds of timber and the related know-how. ENVIRONMENT Being passionately fond of dealing in timber with, we give our support to an ecological and gentle treatment of this raw material. We are conscious of the fact that the forest is of central importance to the ecology of the world. We, too, wish that the following generations will be able to enjoy the beauty of the forests. We are committed in sustained forestry and the selective exploitation of timber. If possible, we buy our timber from plantations, state-owned forestries and farmer's forests. We are actively engaged in different associations, to push the certification of wooden products. All energy necessary to heat our offices and factories and the kiln-drying chambers is produced by our shaving combustion plant. We hardly use any fuel, which is a non regenerating raw material. Our filtration plant is absolutely up-to-date, and the concentration of pollutants is far beyond the allowed concentration. We have planted trees and bushes all around our offices - which is to our pleasure and to the pleasure of our neighbours and a rareness in the industrial area Hamburg-Rothenburgsort close to the harbour. Internal All our activities are organized and carried out here in Hamburg, where everything runs together, from our foreign saw mills, our European branches and our external duties. The feeling of the older employees for what is possible and the openness of the younger employees for new ideas is the mixture of our team. This mixture harmonizes during the daily work and is being continued at different common activities after our office hours. THE TN-TEAM
